Dallas Children's Theater has missed you, and we're excited to have you back! But for now...things will have to be a little bit different...for the sake of the children and our most vulnerable.

All of us at DCT are committed to doing everything within our power to ensure that our environment is a safe and welcoming space. The well-being of our staff as well as the children and families we serve drives all of our decisions. During these challenging times, we ask that everyone who enters our building honors the policies we have set forth so that the magic of live theater can be celebrated as the common thread that binds us.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is a primary source for the development of our guidelines. We will continue to monitor their recommendations and make adjustments as necessary to our policies.

By purchasing tickets to any of our shows, you are acknowledging that you have read and agreed to this code of conduct, and you are committing to making sure that all in your party will adhere to these policies.

First and foremost, if you or anyone in your party does not feel well on show day, have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days, have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive, or are displaying potential COVID symptoms, please do the responsible thing and STAY HOME.

We were recently given clearance by our union to make face masks optional for our patrons. That said, we recognize that many people still prefer to wear their masks. We invite you to come as you are most comfortable. In fact, some of the DCT staff will continue to wear their masks as well. As a welcoming organization, our goal is to make everyone feel comfortable about their choice, and we ask our patrons to do the same.

There will be no paper tickets. Tickets will be sent to you via email and scanned upon entry. Please purchase your tickets prior to arrival for your show either online or by calling DCT at 214-740-0051. In either case, your tickets will be sent to you in advance. The Box Office window will be closed for the show and there will be no cash transactions.

DCT is reducing the capacity for each performance to approximately 60% (231 patrons) so that there can be some distancing between parties. Patrons will seat themselves in their chosen section and be asked to remain in their seats from arrival until the end of the show. Patrons should be aware that it is still possible that there will be people sitting in front, next to, and behind you. To minimize exposure and reduce congregating in confined spaces, doors to the building will open only 30 minutes before show time. If you arrive earlier than that, please stay in your car.

There will be touchless hand-sanitizing stations available throughout the theater. Everyone is encouraged to practice increased hygiene.

There is no intermission for PADDINGTON SAVES CHRISTMAS and DRAGONS LOVE TACOS since they are both an hour long. The show 10 SECONDS will be less than an hour plus a 20-30 minute talkback (no intermission). There will be a brief 15-minute intermission for THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE since it is a 90-minute show. No food or drink is permitted in the theater.

DCT bathrooms and water fountains are touchless/motion sensitive.

Please bookmark this page and check back regularly for updates. As our team of health professionals advise and as situations dictate, we will make updates to our protocols and policies.

Guests will be provided with a QR code that can be used with their phone's camera to review the playbill.

Unfortunately, there will be no opportunity to get autographs from the actors. We are truly sad about this long-held DCT tradition, but the current environs dictate. We will send all families a digital, autographed photo of the entire cast after the show.

Due to the nature of COVID-19 (coronavirus), there is a risk associated with attending a group gathering of any kind. You understand that you are entering the theater at your own risk and that you and your party hereby agree that you will waive and release DCT from any and all liability related directly or indirectly to contracting COVID-19 (coronavirus) or any other related illness or disease. Thank you for your understanding and support. Please share this waiver with those in your party.

Any outbreaks or virus conditions reported to DCT will be communicated to other performance guests as well as the Dallas County Health and Human Services Office.

In light of the uncertainty that surrounds us, we want you to know that it is our promise to be flexible and empathetic as it relates to accommodating ticket exchanges and refunds should you be unable to safely join us for a purchased performance. And in that same spirit, if a performance has to be rescheduled or canceled, we will work with you to facilitate a ticket exchange, credit, donation or refund.

Other important information you should know:

All DCT staff interacting with patrons are fully vaccinated and will be wearing masks at all times and are undergoing testing as needed per CDC guidelines. All staff members will fill out and submit a health self-certification form before entering the building every day.

All actors are fully vaccinated and will fill out and submit a health self-certification form before entering the building every day. Actors will not be interacting with the public.

Air filtration system has been upgraded to MERV-13 standards. MERV-13 level filters are designed to trap smaller particles, including viruses, and will be changed out every 3 months.

DCT will thoroughly clean high touch, heavily occupied spaces before, during and after each performance.

During these unpredictable times, if at any point you do not feel well or you can't make it to our show for whatever reason, please call us at 214-740-0051. We are happy to work with you on rescheduling, providing a refund or booking you into a different show altogether.
